**About the role**:
Reporting to the General Manager of Regulation, this role is responsible for the management of regulatory resets, the strategic preparation and planning for future resets, regulatory performance, and providing analysis and advice on the regulatory framework.
The role requires a resilient and influential leader with the ability to navigate complexity with ease. We are looking for someone to lead this critical and high performing team in the areas of regulatory strategy and education, stakeholder engagement and reset projects.
**What you’ll deliver**:
- Advise on the optimal regulatory reset strategy for five yearly revenue resets in respect to standard control, alternate control and metering services. Act as a key stakeholder and expert to the broader business, particularly, the Executive Management Team and Senior Management Group.
- Manage the regulatory reset process, inclusive of strategic decision making, process governance, and effectively mobilising internal and external resources.
- Act as a key conduit in the relationship with the Australian Energy Regulator in order to optimise our regulatory reset strategy and associated outcomes.
- Build and strengthen key relationships with regulators, government, other distributors, consumer advocate and lobby groups.
- Develop and execute optimal regulatory strategy in relation to the regulatory framework, including incentive arrangements, reporting, expenditure guidelines and reset strategies.
- Develop and implement plans that result in a positive commercial and customer centric culture, enabling and encouraging others within the team.
**To succeed in this role, you’ll have**:
- A tertiary qualification in either economics or law.
- Detailed strategic knowledge of regulatory environments, with relevant experience in a utilities sector.
- Experience in working with the AER and/or other regulatory bodies.
- The ability to navigate complex economic and legal concepts.
- Well developed commercial acumen.
- Excellent relationship building skills to work pragmatically and collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and industry bodies.
- Experience in leading and inspiring high performance within a medium to large team.
- The ability to navigate complexity and distil concepts and ideas into materials that are clear and concise.
