Your new position as a Qantas Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will see you working in the NATA accredited calibration laboratory, within our Component Maintenance Services department. In the role of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Calibration Technician, you will carry out hands-on calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance of measurement and test equipment using the appropriate test methods, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements, whilst providing full support to aircraft maintenance activities. You can also be required to assist with the development of new test methods and procedures, and the review of technical documentation to ensure ongoing compliance.

Your responsibilities will include
- Perform calibration on measurement and test equipment to established production and quality standards- Determine appropriate calibration methods, to ensure compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements- Monitor and report faulty or out of tolerance equipment- Carry out troubleshooting and maintenance on faulty equipment- Ensure regulatory requirements for calibration and traceability are adhered to- Ensure the maintenance has been performed in accordance with the current approved maintenance data and Qantas Engineering Procedures- Assist in the development of new test methods and procedures as required- Review of technical documentation to determine its suitability for use- Enter data into the computerised maintenance systems as required

You’ll have
- Appropriate Trade or Engineering qualification- Relevant Aircraft Maintenance trade experience is desirable, but not essential- Knowledge in tool management processes, tool maintenance and calibration- Working knowledge of standard office software, spreadsheets and word processing software- Prior practical calibration experience is desirable, but not essential- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and as part of a team- Highly motivated with proven problem solving and analytical skills- Proven ability to work accurately to tight deadlines as part of a team with mínimal supervision- High degree of flexibility with the ability to meet changing departmental requirements- Highly developed attention to detail- Ability to work shift work if required- Demonstrated high ethical/behaviour standards and self-discipline- Recently graduated Engineers are encouraged to apply
