Coordinator Landfill Services

Drake Recruitment are looking for a Coordinator - Landfill Services for one of our clients for a role located in Rockingham.

**This role is only 3 months Short Term.**

Position Objectives:

- Coordinate the planning and operations of the Millar Road Landfill facility to ensure compliance with all statutory and environmental regulations and License requirements
- Manage landfill development projects and contracts
- Manage in conjunction with the Manager Waste Services the budget performance, planning and scheduling of capital purchases and site development works

Role Hours:

- Monday - Friday
- 38 hours per week

Role Responsibilities and Outputs can include (but are not limited to):

- Administration
- Contribute, in conjunction with the Manager Waste Services to the preparation of business plans, team plans, budget reviews and other financial reporting relating to the Millar Road Landfill facility
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of the Landfill Services team against the team plan and annual budget
- In conjunction with the Manager Waste Services maintain plans for future development of the Millar Road Landfill facility including new cell construction, alternative waste processing options and site rehabilitation
- Site Operations
- Coordinate the daily operations of the waste disposal facility including landfill, recycling, transfer station and weighbridge activities
- Manage landfill activities related to the landfill gas operator and green waste shredding contractor
- Direct and carry out minor road, earthworks and active cell operation as required
- Customer Service
- Foster, advocate and implement the City's Customer Service Commitment
- Through the delivery of outstanding service, establish a reputation of customer service excellence throughout the organisation
- Corporate Compliance
- Maintain safe and compliant work practices in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation, Risk Management, Contract Management, Project Management, Procurement and Recordkeeping Frameworks and all other relevant Council policies and procedures
- Identify and report on operational risk in accordance with the Risk Management Framework
- Demonstrate a commitment to workplace health and safety and the assessment/management of safety risk that is consistent with the OSH Roles and Responsibilities Framework

- Experience in the operation of a lined sanitary landfill site
- Roads and Earthworks construction experience
- Extensive experience in managing a Waste Facility at a senior level including proven experience in landfill compliance and regulations
- Prior project management experience including the preparation of tender documentation and demonstrated experience in contract administration
- ** Essential **Qualifications, Certifications and Licences
- Formal qualification in civil engineering or waste management, with management qualifications being highly regarded
- Formal qualifications in Project Management
- Current 'C' class driver's licence
