Talent International is searching for an experienced **Cyber Security Officer** to join our client, a local government body. This role is based in **Townsville** on a permanent basis, with relocation costs covered.

**Role Responsibility**:
**Key Accountabilities**
- Follow reasonable directions to maintain business continuity of critical business activities in the event of an unplanned disruption, including but not limited to a disaster or event.
- Research, designs, and implements cyber security solutions for organisation systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards to meet client objectives and outcomes
- Works within IT and internal and external business partners to ensure that security is factored in the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration process of hardware and software
- Contributes to the review compliance and update of cyber security policies, architectures, standards and documentation
- Assists in responding to audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments

**Key Requirements**
- Demonstrated experience in secure management and configuration VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, web server and network security, cloud, OT, Endpoint Protection and the Internet of Things (IoT)
- A minimum of five years of IT experience, with three years in an information security role.
- A bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience; postgraduate qualifications in Cyber Security is preferred.
- Appropriate Cyber/Information Security related certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, SAN GSEC, or OSCP.
- Experience with common information management and security frameworks such as ISO 2700x and ACSC Essential 8.
- Demonstrated ability to detect and analyses Cyber Security incidents to determine impact and severity of an event and articulate the business impact, risks and treatment strategies.
- Strong problem solving skills to analyse risks and requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls to meet client objectives and outcomes.
