As an experienced Trader in this dynamic team, you will be directly accountable for the controlling impact on the trading business results through:

- Running short-term market forecasts and analysis of transmission outages to maximise portfolio management opportunities;
- Providing input into discussions of long and short-term Spot Trading Strategies;
- Keeping abreast of changes to market rules and laws to ensure continual compliance;
- Developing and executing market operating plans aligned with the portfolio management strategy;
- Managing regulatory risk, and building relationships with external bodies such as AER and AEMO.
- Degree in a numerate discipline;
- At least 5 years experience in energy trading in Australian energy markets;
- Ability to recognise and respond quickly and appropriately to variable market conditions;
- Understanding the nature of the risks faced in the physical market and have some knowledge of risk management methodology and reporting;
- Understanding the commercial and behavioural drives of other market participants;
- A high level of numeracy, including skills in using analysis tools such as Excel, Access and Visual Basic.
- An innovative and creative approach to problem-solving; and
- Preparedness to share skills, information and knowledge with other team personnel.
