Power and Greens Forward Trader

**The Opportunity**:
Our team is growing Excellent opportunity for a Power and Greens Forward Trader to join our trading desk within our Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) ANZ business to manage and develop trading activities in risk management and market access, asset management, green solutions and energy supply businesses.

The role will be accountable to the Head of Power and Greens Forward Desk and can be worked flexibly from home and our Southbank office - hybrid work model.

Reasonable requests for part time work will be considered.

**Responsibilities**:

- Optimise and secure the gross margin for the generation, B2B and retail assets portfolio through the ongoing management of complex illiquid market risk (including power, emissions and other environmental products).
- Provide support to the Commercial team in the development of a 3rd party risk management and assets management franchise and manage the associated market risks.
- Be the lead trader for Greens and Certificates but also manage Power books as a secondary activity
- Monitor relevant commodity markets and assess implications for the trading and portfolio books.
- Contribute to the effective development and implementation of trading and commercial strategies and management of commodity market risk exposures within relevant limits.
- Work with Risk, Analytics, IT and the Structuring desk the develop and improve models and pricing methodologies.
- Comply with relevant legislation, industry codes of practice, delegated authorities, risk policies and mandates, Code of Conduct and related controls and operate within the approved risk mandate.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and understanding of power generation and Australian power/gas wholesale markets and of the emissions and environmental products fundamentals and markets. You will have experience in the development, negotiation and management of structured contracts associated with managing merchant exposures such as gas, power, emissions and environmental products).

Power and greens trading operates in a highly regulated environment and the incumbent will comply with relevant legislation, industry codes of practice, delegated authorities, risk policies and mandates and related controls and will operated within approved risk mandates.

You will be collaborative in your approach and can balance stakeholders whilst possessing effective communication skills. You are a nimble learner and tend to be curious and explore for further understanding.
