The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking x2 Assistant Managers to provide a critical role within the Major Offenders unit.

**About the Business Unit**

The Major Offenders Unit is part of the Sentence Management Division and is a component of Corrections Victoria's proactive approach to managing risk and responsiveness. The Unit monitors those individuals identified as high profile, high risk or complex and is responsible for monitoring the progress of people across both prisons and community correctional services. The complex classification cohort includes those identified as posing a risk of violent extremism.

**About the Role**

The Assistant Manager is responsible for the assessment, classification, sentence planning and sentence management of people identified with complex classification needs, with a focus on people accommodated in restricted prison environments, and mainstream/protection environments as required. The position is based in Ravenhall and requires travel to a variety of Corrections Victoria facilities across the state.

This role offers flexible work arrangements with work from home days available.

As an Assistant Manager, some of your duties will include:

- Conducting risk assessments of people in custody to determine appropriate placement, with a focus on terrorist/violent extremist persons.
- Conducting placement reviews of people accommodated in Management and High Security Units and contribute to decisions relating to the placement and management of people in custody.
- Conducting regular reviews of those managed by the Major Offenders Unit accommodated in mainstream and protection accommodation.

- Knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies, organisation, procedures and relevant legislation and regulations.

- A relevant tertiary qualification or experience is desirable.
