**About the team**:
The engine room of our business, our Central Operations team keeps us moving and delivering our services to all Australians. We empower and support our retail teams across the country, helping them deliver great experiences for our customers every single day.

Our Smarter Profit team plays a key role in delivering on Coles key strategic initiatives. Tasked with delivering our national stock loss strategy we are looking for a Smarter Profit and Expense Improvement Manager to join the team

**About the role**:
Working closely with the Smarter Profit Program Manager you will help deliver the national stock loss strategy by understanding key indicators and working closely with store operations to deliver change. You will also:

- Be responsible for delivering the national expenses efficiency strategy and framework - focus store identification, Costbusters program and projects (such as mailbag frequency reduction).
- Provide direct coaching and support to Stores Operations Management and Store teams to build capability in all areas impacting upon loss and expenses.
- Partner with the Operations Loss Leads and Stores Teams to ensure that new stock loss change initiatives which are aligned to the national strategy and framework are executed successfully
- Protect business profits through coaching and behavioural change to improve stock loss, on shelf availability, support business strategic goals and the development of effective partnerships.
- Develop improved methods of cash and stock loss identification and mitigation

**About you and your skills**:
We are looking for an experienced retail leader who has commercial understanding of key drivers of loss prevention. You will also:

- Prior experience supporting operations teams, preferably in a highly matrixed and complex retail environment
- Excellent working knowledge of levers impacting upon loss and expenses in the business including process, behaviour, internal and external loss.
- Strong communication skills
- In depth knowledge of Store processes
- Critical thinking to analyse and provide recommendations of risk mitigation
- Ability to create, manage and sustain change
