Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. IB&M Finance supports the business in providing financial control, financial analysis and insight, product control, regulatory accounting and related project and strategy implementation support.

Product Control is a global team responsible for the independent oversight and financial control of the Global Markets business. Key functions include oversight of all daily P&L production and analysis including attribution and commentary, month end accounting, General Ledger balance sheet reconciliations and other special tasks of the business across the full product range..

The product controllers mandate is to maintain a strong control framework around daily P&L and financial reporting. In addition, developing relationships with Front Office & other stakeholder areas such as Risk and Operations will be a key success factor in order to promote the Product Control group as a trusted and respected business partner.

You will be reporting to Senior Manager Fixed Income & Rates Product Control, and your role will require a close working relationship with the rest of the Global Markets business, Risk Management and other IB&M Finance areas globally. You’ll work closely with other members of the Global Markets Product Control team, which is made up of experienced Product Accountants with backgrounds across Markets businesses in a range of institutions globally.

**Key duties will include**:

- Managing the product control function for Fixed Income desks
- Review of daily, monthly and quarterly P&L results and analysis in line with market moves, P&L drivers and risk positions
- Managing of junior team members
- Partnering Front Office on strategic desk initiatives
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of product source system data interfacing the general ledger
- Review of balance sheet substantiation and month end ledger close
- Preparation of data for statutory and regulatory reports
- Ongoing enhancements to improve efficiency and controls and add value to the businessLeading and participating in project work

**We're interested in hearing from people who value**:

- Accounting background
- 2+ years’ experience in product control or financial control
- Experience in controlling for traded financial products
- Good working knowledge of Murex trading system
- Good working knowledge of relevant accounting standards
- Knowledge of the financial reporting framework and strong technical skills
- VBA, SQL, Tableau Prep, PowerBI, Alteryx or other analytical and automation tools
- Ability to problem-solve, multitask, manage and meet competing deadlinesStrong commercial acumen
