A high growth importer, manufacturer and distributor of specialised consumer products, this dynamic and innovative business continues to expand rapidly throughout Australia and their international markets. As a result of their ongoing growth, an exciting opportunity has presented itself to join their high performing Purchasing team.

**Job tasks and responsibilities**

As a Purchasing Officer, you will assist in the preparation and processing of purchasing goods. Your strong organisational, time management and attention to detail skills will assist you in preparing reports on purchases, reviewing stock levels and managing vendor and supplier relationships. The role is hands-on and incorporates cross collaboration and liaison with internal departments across the business such as Finance, Marketing and Warehouse departments to achieve a holistic and professional service.

**The person**
- Extensive purchasing experience
- Strong spreadsheet/excel skills
- Solid data management skills
- Exceptional organisation and time management skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to influence and negotiate deals with vendors and suppliers
- Effective and accurate costing of new products
- Ability to build relationships at all organisational levels and work with cross functional teams to ensure timely processing of accounts
- Reporting skills with the ability to run reports that assist in monitoring and maintaining supplier performance and stock levels
- Demonstrated experience working within a purchasing position with high numerical data entry
- Applies logical thinking and takes initiative in preparing pricing comparisons for director approval
- Competent using Microsoft suite of programs
- Previous experience using Pronto (desirable but not essential)
