What’s the job?

Reporting to the General Counsel ANZ & China, the Paralegal is responsible for providing administrative support to the Legal team for the operation group in Australia, New Zealand and China. This includes managing contracts from end to end, updating the legal Intranet, preparing invoices and assisting with general administrative duties.

Day-to-day accountabilities:
- Logging proposed contracts in the Contract Management System, ensuring all approvals required are obtained- Monitoring and following up on outstanding contracts which require signing- Regular reporting to relevant stakeholders on progression of contracts review and approval process- Assisting the legal team in amending and editing contracts, updating templates and preparing documents- Preparing case briefs and conducting basic legal research where required- Maintaining corporate registers, business names and trademarks and assisting with ASIC lodgments, filings and renewals for all registered companies

This is a 6-month parental leave contract, 3 days a week (either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). This is a hybrid role, ideally based in Sydney (Surry Hills Campus). We are looking at an ideal start date of the end of March.

Who you are

We are looking for a career Paralegal with knowledge of legal terminology and legal procedure. To be successful in this role you will:
- Demonstrate experience and understanding of contract law and provisions, including how to advise and interpret them- Have a demonstrated understanding of policies and how to implement them- Have great organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail- Be able to work independently

Whilst previous legal experience is important, a background in contract management and/or ethics and compliance will be highly regarded.

This role could be ideal for someone looking at completing their Practical Legal Training or for someone who is currently a paralegal in a private firm and who would like exposure in an in-house legal team.
