The Boatshed Restaurant in South Perth is recruiting a full-time wedding and events manager

About us.

25 years strong with single ownership, The Boatshed Restaurant has operated as one of Perth’s elite restaurant, function and wedding venues. We are a renowned for our quality and diverse food and beverage offering, being able to cater for the corporate world, plan and execute beautiful weddings, host family parties and special celebrations from large gatherings to intimate dinners.

We are currently looking to increase our arsenal with an experienced wedding and events manager to plan, promote, co-ordinate and manage the operation of functions and events.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be required to
- Work on maximising covers, managing function bookings with full understanding of areas and capacities
- Promote and sell the venue, look at new avenues to attract potential clients
- Qualify new business leads and nurture new client relationships
- Have a true understanding of wedding and event costs and profit margins
- Design events, including wine dinners, themed events, charity events and re-evaluate current wedding offer.
- Liaise with kitchen and FOH supervisors during the lead up to and the actual event
- Develop our public profile and market presence
- Identify and develop relationships with key wedding and event platforms
- Develop a calendar of events and promotions
- Ensure all websites are up to date
- Manage and maintain all social media platforms ensuring promotion of weddings and events
- Work with senior managers to develop a new website with a strong focus on weddings and events

ABOUT YOU

You will
- A true hospitality professional with a proven track record of managing wedding and events
- Have a great eye and attention for detail
- Experienced in all restaurant operations coming from a restaurant management background, having a sound knowledge of food and beverage
- Be a hands-on event manager, getting involved in all service aspects
- Be available to work evening and weekend work
- Be impeccably well presented with great interpersonal skills
- Have a proven ability to work independently and autonomously
- Have great organisation skills, with the ability to multi task
- Impeccable communication skills both written and verbal

We request all applicants have an Australian Qualification Framework Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma or at least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for these formal qualifications.

In addition, the applicant must have a further 2 years of relevant work experience on top of the above qualification and / or experience.

International Experience and Restaurant management experience will be favourable.

**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
