About us

The Mai-Wel Group has been providing a diverse range of disability services to residents of the Hunter Valley for almost 60 years. What began as a group of local families coming together to provide education and opportunity to their children has today developed into a thriving business supporting more than 1,500 participants across seven Local Government areas.

**Description**:
The community Living program supports people with a disability to undergo activities that promote personal independence, developing friendships and optimises physical functioning and wellbeing.

Community Living supports provide opportunities for social interactions, developing new friendships, trying new things and importantly creating a sense of belonging in the community.

**Skills and Experiences**:
Essential Requirements
- Have an understanding of person centred approaches and active supports
- Drivers License
- Car that is able to fit a wheelchair
- First Aid Certificate
- Experience working with people with a disability is desirable
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills
- Time Management skills
- Professional/ technical skills
- sufficient practical experience
- Proven ability to work unsupervised
- Working within an NDIS environment
- Adaptability

Desirable requirements
- Cert IV in Disability
- Behaviour support training
