**Job Description**:
The Front End Tech Lead is responsible for working alongside, and
managing, the developers responsible for building, maintaining and optimising
commercial content produced for the Nine and Metro Media assets, namely
Nine Now, The Block, Nine Honey, Wide World of Sports, The Sydney Morning
Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review, and other step outs, such
as Traveller and Good Food. The role works primarily with the design team on
converting their commercial web-based work into functional, beautiful and high
performing web-based code.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Develop and maintain code for our sponsored immersive landing pages, content hubs, competition pages and other related commercial development work
- Coding, testing, documenting, researching, amending, refactoring and ultimately delivering high quality and secure code against the above work
- Leading and mentoring your developers in our busy studio environment
- Collaborating with the Creative Director, Art Directors and Graphic Designers on the best outcomes for our web experiences
- Working competently with version control systems, such as BitBucket and GitHub
- Working on multiple projects simultaneously and thriving in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Excellent organisational skills, time-management and follow-through

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience in front-end development
- 5 years experience in front end development in a fast-paced commercial or studio environment
- Demonstrated skills in coding with HTML5, CSS3, CSS Animations, SCSS, JavaScript, ES6, React JS, use of package builders and API’s
- Understanding of accessibility, maintainability and able to code independently
- Experience with slicing/manipulating web imagery using the Adobe Suite, including Xd
- Experience working with the WordPress CMS and the WP API
- Experience working with Google Analytics, G360 and GA Custom Events
- Experience working with version control tools such as GitHub or BitBucket
- Familiar with browser compatibility and testing workflows
- A solutions-focused team player who is flexible and adaptable in responding to the needs of a project

**Desirable**
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar technical field of study
- 10 years experience in front end development in a fast-paced commercial or studio environment
- Delivering to strict deadlines and committed to exceeding expectations
