Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

**Coroners Court of Victoria**

The Coroners Court of Victoria (CCOV) is responsible for:

- Independently investigating deaths and fires. Certain deaths and fires are reported to the Coroners for independent investigation. Their investigations seek to establish the facts - when, where, how, and why the death or fire happened.
- Reducing preventable deaths. Wherever possible, the Coroner will suggest ways to prevent similar deaths or fires by making well informed and practical recommendations, based on the evidence before them.
- Promoting public health and safety and the administration of justice. The court regularly reports on data and trends regarding preventable deaths in Victoria to help inform public health responses.

**About the Role**

The Coroners Prevention Unit (CPU) is a specialist service for Coroners created to strengthen their prevention role and provide them with expert assistance.

The Manager, Mental Health and Disability is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary investigation team within CPU with the aim of delivering exceptional outcomes to Coroners and service users.

The Manager, Mental Health and Disability also:

- Provides specialist advisory and investigative case management support on mental health and disability related deaths.
- Reviews clinical evidence and information to identify contributing and remediable factors that may assist in preventing further deaths.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the priorities of the CPU and CCOV.

**About You**

As the Manager Mental Health and Disability, you will be a dynamic leader with excellent communication skills and a commitment to public health and safety.

You will also possess:

- A thorough understanding and clinical experience in mental health services and systems in Victoria.
- Advanced case management and investigative skills and experience.
- A relevant clinical mental health related qualification and current APHRA or AASW registration is essential.
- An ability to manage and mentor staff, developing capability and continuous improvement within the team.
- An understanding of the disability sector will be an advantage.
