About the Role
The Head of Department - Teaching and Learning works with the Head of Department Pathways and Engagement and provides strategic leadership and analytical tracking of student performance with a specific responsibility to:

- Manage, maintain and configure our online recording systems of Compass/TRAX.
- Generate and provide performance data through Compass/TRAX/TrackED/PowerBi to track student performance.
- Lead a whole school Data Plan/ Data Inquiry Cycles.
- Lead whole school Goal Setting processes.
- Manage Whole School Timetabling.
- Create staffing plans to meet the needs of the school.
- Develop and monitor Budget.
- Conduct Annual Performance Review.
- Manage staff.
- Know the students - Home based and School based.
- Liaise with home based supervisors and school based supervisors.

Performance Data
- Lead a school data team to ensure the implementation and communication of the data plan
- Develop class data cycles for teachers to identify student performance issues, interventions and referrals
- Develop an effective goal-setting/feedback cycle
- Improve and maintain the Compass/TRAX data providing regular PD and updates to teachers on its best use
- Further review, develop and implement the whole school data plan
- Provide regular performance and attendance data at regular junctures
- Lead professional learning on data literacy
- Work collaboratively with other HODS to ensure a line of sight that links the data to teacher pedagogy and teaching quality

Compass
- Administrator
- Roll marking and absence policy and coordinator
- Work with Compass to incorporate new reports for senior students

Timetabling
- Resolving student timetable clashes and issues
- Day to day changing of staff and inputting new staff
- Day to day creation and collapsing of classes
- Reviewing the set-up of the timetable to ensure that it meets changing school needs

OneSchool
- Administrator - adding staff, permissions and reset PINs
- Configuration of OneSchool for student data and use
