Your Opportunity

Berry Street’s Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) is a provider and access point for integrated family violence services in the Northern Metro Melbourne sub-region. The service provides a range of support services to families who have experienced family violence.

This position will play a critical role in providing a specialist family violence case management response to up to 10 victim survivors and their children. In addition to this, an important part of this position includes family violence capacity building activities, secondary consultation, family violence training and attendance at networks, as identified in consultation with the Team Leader Community Programs.

This position is currently based in Preston with a mix of in office and working from home.

**What does a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner do?**

Primarily the role is expected to be assessing family violence risk and working intensively with victim survivors and their children to identify goals and achieve them.

The NSFVS service operates within a collaborative & supportive team environment with a strong focus on partnerships with relevant external organisations.

The role will engage with key service providers in the Moreland LGA and other LGA’s as required and will be supported by the expertise of the Berry Street NSFVS team in building and strengthening these networks and partnerships.
