The Role

Our Retirement Living community in Camberwell has a permanent part time opportunity available for a Maintenance Officer (20-24 hours per fortnight). We are seeking a competent, reliable, and flexible Maintenance Officer to ensure the community is provided with a timely, skilled and customer focused maintenance service. This role involves close contact with residents of the community and good communication, gentle approach and sensitivity are required.

This position is responsible for supporting the Site Manager with the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the community’s assets, some supervision of contractor works and ensuring a secure and safe environment for all stakeholders.

**Key Duties**:
Assist in keeping the preventative maintenance schedule up to date, and any request for maintenance is responded to in a timely manner

Ensure the level of local repairs are attended to promptly & use of external contractors is reviewed by the Site Manager as required

Attend site meetings & any mandatory staff training as directed by Site Manager

Liaise with both internal & external customers (residents, families, contractors & visitors) in a compassionate, helpful manner that best reflects Baptcare's Mission & Vision statement

Maintain strict privacy & dignity in all dealings with residents and staff

About you

Relevant experience in facility maintenance service delivery

Trade certificate or other relevant building/trade qualifications (preferred, but not essential)

Test & Tag qualification (preferred, but not essential)

Basic computer skills in Office Word, Excel etc. (essential)

Knowledge of MSDS, WHS

Current Driver's Licence (essential)

Current Heavy Vehicle Licence (preferred, but not essential)

Current Flu & Covid Vaccination record (these are mandatory in the industry including 3rd COVID vaccination)
