As a Team Leader Machine Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of machinery and leading a team of machine operators to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe production processes. Your role will involve hands-on machine operation, as well as team leadership, troubleshooting, and maintaining high standards of production quality.
You will join our Wacol team at our brand-new site, reporting to Operations Manager. The role will include but will not be limited to the following responsibilities:
**Some key responsibilities will include**:
Supervise and support a team of machine operators, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Conduct regular quality checks and ensure that all products meet company standards and specifications.
Identify and resolve machine malfunctions or production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Plan the workload of the team.
Identification of production improvement opportunities.
Implement LEAN Manufacturing initiatives whilst monitoring the quality and safety KPI’s.
Maintain quality standards.
Operate machinery as per the relevant Safe Operating Procedures (SOP).
Achieve consistent output from similar input on daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.
To Be Successful
Experience leading a team in a hands on capacity.
Experience preferred in Reinforcing Steel, (desirable but not essential)
Experience operating cranes, machines and loading trucks.
Previous experience working within a manufacturing/production environment.
Strong Work Ethic and Reliable
Safety Conscious
Excellent Communication Skills
