Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is the Victorian Government's insurer and risk adviser, covering the people and projects that help Victorians thrive. About Domestic Building Insurance (DBI)
The Domestic Building Insurance team provides mandatory cover for homeowners who are building or renovating in Victoria. Builders are required to purchase domestic building insurance on behalf of the homeowner for all domestic building projects over $16,000.

Your role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Contracts Specialist to join the DBI team.
Your role reports to the Head of DBI Contracts & Governance and you'll manage suppliers in accordance with the VMIA procurement and contracts management framework and contractual requirements. A huge and a key part of this role is the administration of contracts with suppliers, ensuring payments are made in a timely manner and helping drive continuous improvement in the use of suppliers to enhance the end user experience.
What you do
- You support, manage, and monitor the performance of suppliers against key provisions of each contract including KPIs and performance metrics
- You maintain contract management plans to manage the supplier's contracts
- You create standardised reporting templates to extract optimal value from our contractual relationships including feedback systems for suppliers and staff.
- You possess strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- You coordinate audits (as per the Distributor contract) and report on outcomes including recommendations and tracking of performance improvement opportunities.
- You provide coordination and support for multiple procurement activities as required.
- You maintain compliance with VMIA's procurement policy.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Willingness and ability to learn new processes, systems, and products.
- Legal or paralegal / compliance and administration experience would be desirable.

Who you work with
- Chief Officer, DBI - you provide assurance that the strategic contracts are being effectively monitored and managed.
- Head of DBI Contracts & Governance - you ensure the DBI division is ably supported by the supplier engagements in place.
- Head of Claims - you provide data and information related to the management of contracts and seek feedback on supplier performance and opportunities for improvements.
- Head of Service Delivery - you provide data and information related to the management of contracts and seek feedback on supplier performance and opportunities for improvements.
- Head of Builder Risk Assessments - you provide data and information related to the management of contracts and seek feedback on supplier performance and opportunities for improvements.
- You work closely with the DBI leadership team to provide performance reports regarding suppliers, identify insights from supply chain analysis that contribute to process improvements and cost reductions.
- Business Operations team - you seek advice on any legal, procurement and compliance requirements.
- External suppliers - you manage the contractual relationships with suppliers and resolve day to day operational matters and provide and seek performance feedback on a micro and macro level.

About you
- You have demonstrated contract management experience.
- You have solid experience with the Victorian Public Sector including understanding of the Standing Directions and Victorian Government Purchasing Board requirements.
- You may hold a tertiary qualification/s in an appropriate discipline, or have relevant equivalent experience in procurement, supply chain, commerce, or business administration.
