We are seeking a highly committed and resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, a proactive and collaborative approach, self-motivation, and strong analytical skills to fulfil the role of Executive Manager - Collaborations, Partnerships and Engagement within The Office of the Chief Scientist (OSC) at CSIRO.
As the Executive Manager, you will develop, monitor and maintain strategic relationships with domestic and international universities and research institutes (at VC/ DVCR level), government and business for the achievement of CSIRO strategic science objectives. Working across CSIRO you will develop a deep understanding of CSIRO’s corporate plan, strategy and challenge strategies to provide strategic advice and support; and identify and develop new opportunities for collaborations/engagement and partnerships.
This is a meaningful opportunity for you to ensure the effective integration of relationship management with other parts of the organisation, for example, CSIRO Growth and Business Units with respect to university and research relationships. An understanding and engagement with CSIRO’s strategic science objectives is an essential component of the role, as well as ensuring strong collaborative relationships are formed with the CSIRO Executive Team, business unit leaders and with scientific staff, to ensure university collaborations and partnerships are established and/or continue to operate smoothly.
**Your duties will include**:
- Identifying, qualifying, developing, securing, and maintaining long-term relationships for scientific capability building at CSIRO, working very closely with the Chief Scientist, CSIRO Growth and the relevant CSIRO Business Units (BUs) and BD leads.
- Supporting both the development and implementation of CSIRO’s University Engagement Plan, including external engagements for FSP, and the negotiation and execution of strategic projects and partnership agreements.
- Leading strategic, long term research engagement and building deep relationships with senior leaders in universities, research institutes, State Chief Scientists and others to progress CSIRO’s research agenda.
- Providing support and input into both internal and external stakeholder consultation meetings/planning forums on behalf of the Chief Scientist.
- Influencing strategic decisions and aligning goals with the broader business unit goals and contribute to and influence organisational policy and action.
- Collating and providing high-quality reports on information; including trends, challenges and potential opportunities as requested by the Chief Scientist and/or in response to Executive Team or Board member requests.
**Location**:Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra preferred. Other CSIRO locations will be considered.
**Salary**:AU $146,207 to $161,767 pa (pro-rata for part-time) + up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a relevant area such as science, business, or industry.
- Demonstrated experience working at a high-level with industry and research, government and/or business sectors, with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels - including senior levels.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with strong ability to build valuable networks, connecting and coordinating multi-stakeholder engagements and providing leadership in meetings and workshops to deliver clearly articulated outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level strategic and program management skills with the ability to analyse and solve complex problems and break down barriers to achieve program objectives in a timely manner with limited resources.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed team, plus the motivation and discipline to carry out autonomous research.
