**About the Role**

Echocardiography Educator (Cardiac Technologist) Grade 4 - Permanent Part time

Western Health Cardiology is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic echocardiography educator with proven expertise and specialist knowledge in echocardiography to join the enthusiatic Cardiac Diagnostic Service team.

The Cardiac Diagnostic Service is based at Sunshine and provides inpatient and outpatient Trans-thoracic echocardiograms, Cardiac Echocardiography Stress and Transoesophageal studies and supports cardiac specialist outpatient clinics across site. Cardiac Services are located across both Footscray and Sunshine Hospitals. Each site has a Cardiac Care Unit and Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories providing a 24/7 acute infarct angioplasty service.

**Duties**

The Echocardiography Educator demonstrates advanced clinical competency and knowledge in echocardiography modalities playing an integral role supporting cardiac diagnostic echocardiography modality and staff. This is a senior position assisting in supporting both junior and senior echocardiography staff with introduction and implementation of new and enhanced echocardiography techniques.

Western Health Cardiac Diagnostic Services supports echocardiography trainees in a structured echocardiography education training program. This is supported by an Echocardiography staff, Cardiologists and Cardiology Registrars. The successful applicant will promote patient care by actively supporting and contributing to staff training and supervision with contribution and participation quality

**To be Successful in this Role you**
- Post Graduate Diploma / Masters in an Accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Course
- Current ASAR accreditation
- Proven experience in Echocardiography and/or extensive knowledge in specialist techniques
- Demonstrated achievement in provision of expert clinical knowledge
- Demonstrated commitment and participation in continuing professional development
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a multidisciplinary team and effective communication skills.
- Commitment to providing quality care under a Best Care Framework
- Participation in echocardiography on call roster
