Corporate General Manager

**Job Summary**: The Corporate General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations, sales, marketing, finance, and human resources of a Crop Protection Chemicals distribution company, Gharda Australia, base in Bella Vista, NSW. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to ensure the company's growth, profitability, and market position. The Corporate General Manager will work closely with the ED and other senior executives to develop and implement business strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Identify market trends, opportunities, and challenges in the insecticide and Crop Protection Chemicals industry to inform strategic decisions.
- Monitor industry developments and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
2. Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
3. Sales and Marketing:
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to increase market share and drive revenue growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Oversee the development of marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and brand positioning.
4. Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the company's budget, financial forecasts, and financial statements.
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure effective cost management and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial targets.
5. Human Resources Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team and staff.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement, development, and retention.
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and succession planning processes.
6. Stakeholder Management:
- Represent the company in industry associations, trade shows, and professional networks.
- Communicate effectively with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates on business performance and strategic initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and community organizations.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s Degree in Agricultural Science, bachelor’s degree in business administration, Chemical Engineering or Agriculture related field.
- Proven experience in a senior management role within the Crop Protection Chemicals or related to Agricultural industry for +12 years.
- In-depth understanding of Global and Local Australian Crop Protection market, including global and local APVMA regulatory requirements and industry trends.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficient in financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Demonstrated experience in sales and marketing, with a track record of driving revenue growth.
**Work Environment**:
- Office-based with regular visits to distribution centre and client sites.
- May require occasional travel to industry events, conferences, and meetings with stakeholders.
