The Chief Controls Office (CCO) is a first line of defence function that provides comprehensive and integrated risk services in support of the CCO. The value proposition of the CCO is to provide skilled, practical and efficient risk management to support the CCO in the delivery of excellent business and customer outcomes.

**Your main responsibilities will include**:

- Designing and Implementing the controls assurance program to monitor, review and test effectiveness of the control environment across WPB.
- Leading and conducting high quality controls assurance activities, thematic reviews, identify issues and make recommendations to improve the overall control environment, including controls automation.
- Raising risk, control awareness and capability within the WPB business.
- Providing control expertise on the end to end health of the control environment
- Managing internal and external audit requirements.
- Frequent interface with WPB regional counterparts on issues related to monitoring, controls and remediation.
- Acting as a business partner in supporting the business on operational risk and compliance matters.
- Supporting and managing the WPB Controls Assurance Team for operational excellence

Requirements

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Extensive Leadership and Management experience in Risk and Control functions or Audit within financial services industry. Demonstrated ability to build an inclusive culture, motivate and coach a high performing and diverse team that values diversity of thought.
- Demonstrate a strong commercial acumen with a desire to base decisions on data and business value.
- Assurance skillset - experience in identification, planning, testing and reporting on automated and technology dependent manual controls across various business processes.
- Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of industry impacts to Regulatory and Compliance related matters.
- Ability to develop, design and implement a Control Assurance plan and maintain strong advisory controls relationships with senior stakeholders.
