**About The Role**
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Bidding -Telecommunications, the responsibilities of the **Bid Manager** is managing opportunities and bids in the Telecommunication Sector throughout the opportunity lifecycle, including development and finalisation of winning strategy, solution and price; stakeholder and team engagement; legal and governance reviews; supervising day to day proposal activities and development; negotiation and handover to transition / operational teams / and, or bid close out.

**This position can be located in Victoria, New South Wales of Queensland and is open to people from a different background covering off some of the skills below.**

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Lead and build a winning team culture in the bid team
- In consultation with the Lead Bid Manager, Pre Contracts GM and the Sector GM(s) establish the bid resources commitment and budget necessary for the bid
- Facilitate the establishment and implementation of a winning bid strategy and value for money solutions, driving the development and formation of unique and compelling value propositions
- Effectively plan, programme and manage the preparation of bids, assurance and approvals that are assigned to the role in accordance with Ventia policies and procedures, ensuring bids are submitted on time
- Establish client requirements and translate into bid plan, timeline and writing plan
- Manage client interfaces and tender documentation
- Coordinate the estimate, risk management, commercial review, and methodology and programme to ensure consistency and alignment with the written submission and the bid strategy
- Manage the preparation of a clear and concise delivery methodology and programme as part of working documentation and inclusion in the tender document
- Ensure external quotations are sourced and managed in accordance with the system, including RFQ documentation and accompanying Commercial Terms
- Participation in business planning, tender success analysis and the evolution of business improvement, tendering and estimating procedures
- Specialist Consultant Resources - establish and maintain relationships and coordinate, manage and quality control the work of these specialist resources

**About Y**ou**
- Proven track record of successfully leading large (approx. $20M) proposals in a service delivery and/or construction environment
- Ideally 5 years directly related experience in Telecommunications or previous experience in Infrastructure (power/water) industry sectors and a wider range of commercial models is an advantage
- Comprehensive understanding of capture management / tendering processes and the interplay between contracts, operations and commercial outcomes
- Proven track record in forming and leading project teams; collaborative and inclusive working methods, ability to quickly assess management requirements and address issues
- A high level of competency in MS Office; including SharePoint and experience with sales management tools, such as Salesforce is advantageous
