Part of a large central department this division supports sustainable funding for the department by developing and implementing cost recovery policy and arrangements.

**Your new role**
Cost recovery is a fundamental component of the department’s financial resource base. It enables key regulatory and service provision activities across this larger program. Working collaboratively in a team environment and for Cost Recovery Finance to improve reporting and analysis of the divisions cost recovery arrangement. Provide detailed advice in relation to complex problems and assist in strategic planning and project management.

Day to day you’ll:

- Develop and maintain cost recovery expense, volume and charging models using both an analytical and policy perspective.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic reporting on the divisions cost recovery arrangement.
- Prepare advice about cost recovery principles, consistent with whole of government and departmental financial objectives.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders that contribute to the cost recovery arrangement. Assist in the development of material that builds cost recovery literacy both internally and externally.
- Assist with input into internal and external communication and education products such as Industry Advice Notices, visual aids or training material on the divisions cost recovery.
- Assist in preparing briefings for Ministers and Assistant Ministers, Executive Committees, the Secretary, the Chief Finance Officer, Industry Consultative Committees and other stakeholders.

**What you'll need to succeed**
You’ll use your prior understand with public sector frameworks including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, the Australian Government Charging Framework and the Australian Government Cost Recovery Guidelines to assist in the management of the continuous improvement projects to improve analysis and reporting. You’ll hold a government clearance and ideally hold qualifications in accounting and have or working to CA or CPA.
