
Spatial Information Officer

Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies associated with spatial information, geographic information systems (GIS), geo-resource and natural resource data management, and associated products and services. - Prepare written and verbal reports relating to geographic information products and services where required. - Assist in providing technical advice to departmental officers and customers in the field of mapping and spatial data management, and associated products and services. - Participate in the maintenance and provision of spatial information through the production and development of cartographic products and services. Work independently and/or collaboratively within a team environment on a project or program basis, to ensure that objectives are completed in a timely, appropriate, and effective manner. - Contribute to the creation of innovative solutions and efficient processes associated with mapping and spatial data access and management. - Knowledge or experience in the creation of Web Mapping Applications would be beneficial but not mandatory. Working knowledge of Feature Manipulation Engine or Python coding would be beneficial but not mandatory. Other duties as directed and required.
There is one Spatial Information Officer position currently available between various locations across the state.
