**The Opportunity**

As a Spatial Statistician, you will support a range of projects involving the spatial analysis of soil data, statistical sampling design, and integration of remote sensing technologies. You’ll be working closely with scientists, software dev ops, ML ops, and other data specialists in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

**What you'll bring to Carbon Link**

As a Spatial Statistician, you will be providing technical suggestions, helping make decisions and collaborating with scientists, software engineers and stakeholders in the company.

**Your Responsibilities**:
- Perform and document spatial analysis of soil attributes across varying landscapes and scales.- Design, evaluate and document statistically sound soil sampling frameworks.-
- Integrate drone-based LiDAR and remote sensing maps with soil attribute data.- Support spatial models to understand and predict soil characteristics.-
- Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to deliver spatial research milestones.

**Required Attributes and Experience**- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a small, agile team environment.- 3+ years of experience or recent tertiary education with a consistently high GPA in multivariate statistical analysis.- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.- Strong skills in scientific writing and developing oral presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.- Proficiency in programming language, such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS, Julia, Matlab.

**Desirable (Nice to Have)**- Spatial statistical experience preferably in an environmental or agricultural context.- Exposure to modern multivariate sampling designs.- Experience with spatial tools such as QGIS or similar GIS platforms.- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.- Experience working with soil data, environmental datasets, or remote sensing technologies.- Exposure to machine learning or process models.

**Location**

Our office is located in the Brisbane CBD, Australia, and 100% WFH is available for the right professional. Occasionally, you may be invited to travel to our lab or visit a customer's farm.
