**Due to the nature of the needs of the client, it is a requirement of the job for the worker to be female.**

**The client**

You will be supporting a verbal 9-year-old female client, living in Onkaparinga Hills who is actively supported 24/7 with Department of Child Protection (DCP) support. She will be attending school M-F, enjoys baking, swimming, going to the playground, beach, and going for a drive.

**What you need to succeed**:

- Be a passionate, reliable, and dedicated support worker who is looking to grow and further develop your skills
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure a consistent approach to enable clients to reach their goals.
- Experience in working with behaviours of concern and implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies and plans.
- Knowledge of the autism spectrum and effective strategies for support.
- Experience supporting clients in their homes and the community
- Experience supporting young people to develop independent living skills
- Familiarity with Active Support principles Experience or knowledge of alternative communication methods

**Essential requirements**:

- A minimum Certificate IV in Disability or Youth Work.
- DCP Psychological Assessment (successful applicants will be supported with this process.
- National Police Clearance within the last 3 months
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and DHS Working with Children Check
- Full Australian Drivers Licence
- Completion of NDIS worker orientation module
- First Aid and CPR training
- Child Safe Environment training
- Assist with Medication training
