**About our opportunity**

Our Corporate Communications team is currently in a growth stage as we drive to deliver projects and support our expanding region and Council.

We understand the importance of the marketing and communication function here at MBRC, and are searching for a motivated, creative and energetic communication support officer to join our team.

This is an opportunity to be involved in the communication planning for such a great diversity of topics. Where else but Local Government will you support strategic communications for Local Laws, Planning, Waste Services, Economic Development, Sport and Recreation, Community Facilities, Libraries... and so much more

As a Communications Support Officer, you will:

- Assist in the development, implementation, creation and delivery of communication and marketing strategies.
- Develop content to capitalise on integrated communication opportunities.
- Identify emerging or potential communications issues and contribute to the effective management of these issues.
- Review, edit and value-add to corporate documents to ensure a consistent standard across brand, tone and language.
- Assist with measuring effectiveness of campaigns and inform content.

**About you**

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their communications career, eager to learn from experienced mentors in the industry.

You will be an engaging writer and communicator, with an understanding of what effective media and communication strategies and content looks like.

Hitting those tight deadlines will come second nature for you As will your strong stakeholder engagement skills as this role liaises with such a varied audience, providing strategic public relations and marketing support to the Council business divisions in conjunction with the senior members of the team, to clearly and effectively communicate Council projects and priorities.

With a forensic eye for detail and experience and enthusiasm for turning complicated topics/research/analysis into more easily comprehended messages for target audiences, this role will be a great next challenge for you
