**About the role**
Ventia’s Precontracts team are seeking an experienced **Bid Manager** to manage opportunities and bids in the Resources & Industrials and Rig Well & Services within Infrastructure Structure Sector throughout the full end to end opportunity lifecycle acting as a key stakeholder to our external and internal clients.
**About you**
Reporting directly to the Lead Bid Manager you will take full responsibility for all aspects of tender preparation, coordination, reviews, submission and compliance, with the aim of delivering work winning solutions whilst maintaining Ventia’s high technical standards.
You will take a proactive, leadership approach to developing and delivering winning commercial models that both enhance current customer relationships and contribute to the achievement of profit and growth targets, winning new work and achieving contract renewals in the preparation of professional, high quality, innovative and commercially successful tenders and proposals to clients.
**Key duties, but not limited to**:
- Lead and build a winning team culture in the bid team
- In consultation with the Lead Bid Manager establish the bid resources commitment and budget necessary for the bid
- Facilitate the establishment and implementation of a winning bid strategy and value for money solutions, driving the development and formation of unique and compelling value propositions
- Effectively plan, programme and manage the preparation of bids, assurance and approvals that are assigned to the role in accordance with Ventia policies and procedures, ensuring bids are submitted on time
- Engage and communicate that strategy to the bid team, and overview the execution of that strategy throughout the tender process
- Establish client requirements and translate into bid plan, timeline and writing plan
- Assign and monitor tender team tasks and deadlines
- Manage client interfaces and tender documentation
- Coordinate the estimate, risk management, commercial review, and methodology and programme to ensure consistency and alignment with the written submission and the bid strategy
- Maintain an up-to-date SharePoint tender team site with all tender working and deliverable documentation, client documents, clarifications and correspondence
**Skills and experience required**:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or technical area is preferrable, though not essential
- Proven track record of successfully leading large (+$20M) proposals in a service delivery and/or construction environment
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience bidding in a blue-collar service delivery environment; previous experience in Resources, Infrastructure (power/water), Construction, Telco industry sectors and a wide range of commercial models is an advantage
- Comprehensive understanding of capture management / tendering processes and the interplay between contracts, operations and commercial outcomes
- Proven track record in forming and leading project teams; collaborative and inclusive working methods, ability to quickly assess management requirements and address issues
- Effective communications / teamwork across all levels
- Highly developed customer orientation
- Excellent, fluent written and verbal English skills, with ability to clearly articulate strategy, requirements and timeframes to internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability, willingness and commitment to be multi-skilled and up skilled, with a can do attitude
