**The opportunity**

Right now, we are looking for a **Project Planner** to join the team to work on some exciting projects in the Newcastle, Hunter region including the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace project. The primary purpose of the role is to develop and maintain project schedules for a portfolio of projects/programs to monitor key activities and assess impacts to achievements of key milestones for the full lifecycle of projects/programs. The role will also develop an integrated control schedule for the whole program-project lifecycle by phase in-line with the Schedule Management Procedure. Monitor the project/program schedule through the development and delivery phases, including working with the detailed contractor schedule.

The role will obtain and understand the needs and expectations of a wide range of stakeholders and communicate effectively with them to ensure priorities and agendas align.

**This is a Permanent Full-time Opportunity based in Newcastle, NSW.**

**Key responsibilities**:

- Participate in the design and constructability review meetings and workshops to gather intelligence to support the construction activity project schedules.
- Review and evaluate tender project schedules and make recommendations to project team on preferred tendered schedule during the procurement phase.
- Responsible for schedule integrity to ensure schedules are compliant with TfNSW standards and procedures and maintained to the highest quality.
- Develop and implement Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) including alignment with Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) in accordance with TfNSW standards and procedures with TfNSW project management team in Development phase.
- Provide support in development of master integrated schedule for portfolio of programs/projects in order to monitor key activities and milestones.
- Engage with Project Managers to review impacts, test scenarios and develop solutions for scheduling demands Conduct the required schedule baseline management including validation of logic, critical path analysis, health check and quantitative risk analysis.
- Prepare appropriate milestone and schedule report for various stakeholders including the executives to help them in decision making.
- Gather the supporting document to augment the progress evidence and report the duration-based progress against that of the current project baseline profile at phase / packages / project level.
- Analyse and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance / change order raised to enable clarity on change effects.

**About you**
- Building productive, collaborative and cooperative relationships within the team and with a wide variety of stakeholders and service providers to ensure best practice project management while delivering complex and challenging projects.
- Ensuring projects managed are completed within required timeframes and meet required outcomes and quality standards and are achieved at or below budget.
- Demonstrated experience with developing and maintaining construction schedules and understand the importance of traceability of changes.
- Demonstrated site infrastructure / construction experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction methodologies
- Having a tertiary degree in Engineering or Construction with site experience is preferred

Regular working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Dashboard reporting will be preferred.

The role may require visiting project sites and effectively communicating with project site personnel, stakeholders, consultants, designers and partners.

**Salary and benefits**

The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($142,178 - $159,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
