**About the role**
Reporting into our new General Manager of Corporate Affairs, the purpose of this role is to provide communications expertise to support on building the corporate brand of Sportsbet, with a communications, stakeholder and media strategy that protects and enhances the reputation of the business. Sportsbet operates in a highly complex and ever-changing sector. There is high scrutiny from media, regulators and other stakeholders as the industry adapts to massive changes in technology and innovation, consumer preferences and competitive forces.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute a suite of corporate communication materials and assets that articulates and build awareness of our corporate brand with a broad range of external stakeholders
- Play a role in preparing key corporate publications and external submissions whilst work closely with marketing to ensure public facing corporate communication broadly aligns with the desired public image
- Develop and manage effective relationships with influential media stakeholders and be the key PR contact for all non-consumer business issues
- Drive positive corporate media for Sportsbet, and the industry in conjunction with Responsible Wagering Australia, with a focus on supporting Sportsbet’s external regulatory messages
- Work closely with internal communication team to ensure key messaging pillars on business strategy, ESG, policy and other issues are communicated impactfully, creatively and regularly
- Provide regular and expert advice to the business and Corporate Affairs on reputation, media relations and communication issues
**About You**
Naturally, we’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and experience in developing impactful communication assets. Along with this someone who has:
- Experience in corporate communications role, ideally with in-house and/or agency background
- Strong understanding of - and networks in - the Australian media environment
- Demonstrated capacity in crafting varied communications assets creatively (press releases, factsheets, presentations, Q&A materials)
- Track record in delivering communication projects and managing media announcements end-to-end, with positive outcomes
- Experience in dealing with complex issues and/or crisis management
