In this second-in-command (2iC) role within our Corporate Affairs team, you will be responsible for corporate communications and public affairs, developing and implementing the Corporate Affairs strategy and managing external agencies and the annual communications budget to promote our brands and business.

You will have a high degree of autonomy and be accountable for delivering government relations, brand PR, corporate profiling and external communications based in our Melbourne or Wodonga offices.

**What would be your key** respons**ibilities**?**
- Raise the external profile of Mars Petcare’s Leadership Team, brands and purpose
- Provide strategic counsel to functions within Mars on brand and reputation to mitigate or manage risk
- Ensure internal stakeholders are up to date on emerging issues and media exposure
- Monitor relevant legislative and regulatory issues to remove barriers to the Mars purpose
- Develop relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including; government/regulators, non-government organizations, industry associations, community groups, media and agency partners
- Provide communications support to colleagues on government & stakeholder engagement, consumer and media relations, stakeholder management and recall materials

**What are we looking for?**
- Experience in Corporate Affairs, external communications and issues management
- Solid public affairs awareness and news consumption, able to pragmatically assess risk
- Adept communicator, articulate and to the point with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in agency and/or in-house teams (consumer goods environment highly regarded)
