**Location**: Glenwood, NSW
**Position Type**: Part-time
**Hours**: 3 hours each on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (4-7 PM) or Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (4-7 PM)
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide one-on-one support to both children, focusing on their individual needs and development goals.
- Assist with speech therapy exercises and activities to enhance their communication skills.
- Implement strategies and techniques to support their social and emotional development.
- Engage the children in structured play and learning activities that promote cognitive and sensory development.
- Monitor and record the children’s progress, communicating effectively with parents and any other involved professionals.
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children.
- Support daily routines and activities, including mealtime and hygiene practices.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to parents on activities and exercises to continue progress outside of scheduled hours.
**Requirements**:
- Prior experience working with children with autism.
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and strategies for supporting children with autism.
- Experience with speech therapy or similar communication support.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe and engaging environment for children.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in childcare, special education, or related fields are desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid Certification.
**Working Hours**:
- The position requires a commitment of 3 hours each on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday or Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM.

Pay: $30.00 - $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 14 per week

Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (required)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
Work Authorisation:
