An opportunity exists for an experienced **Superintendent** to join our Rail Plant Services team based QLD.

**Responsibilities of the role include (but are by no means limited to)**:

- Manage plant performance, reliability and effectiveness of maintenance and repairs.
- Responsible for seeking agreement with customers regarding adequate downtime notification for the servicing of equipment
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of Supervisors to ensure works performed in-house, by subcontractors or suppliers are in line with contractual agreements
- Lead and drive the reporting of plant utilisation rates, maintenance repairs, project recovery costs and key performance indicators for the Rail Plant Services
- Ensure compliance in commercial and financial management including meeting budgets and identifying cost saving measures
- Make technical and engineering recommendations to ensure that all legislative equipment criteria are met and ensure equipment, materials and services comply with specifications and Australian standards.
- Plant & equipment scheduling & availability management
- Maintenance strategy and planning & scheduling
- Review documentation, maintenance history and log sheets
- External mechanical services delivery
- Maintain knowledge of applicable legislation and provide advice on legislative and regulatory requirements
- Develop pre bid methodologies and logistics
- General P&E advice
- Update AMS, WRA & registers
- Inspections & audits
- Load & transport management
- Coordinate assembly & commission of Plant
- Advise with selection and transportation of cranes

**To be successful in this key role, you must have;**:

- Relevant trade or engineering qualifications
- Previous experience in a superintendent role with a proven record in leadership and risk management with approx. 5 - 10 years in a similar position.
- Experience in plant maintenance operations for a large fleet of rail plant - 1200+ assets.
- Proven track record with rail, construction or mining industry experience in operations of similar scale with technical knowledge of plant & equipment including rail tampers, regulators, road rail vehicles, EWP’s, loaders, excavators, minor powered plant, truck & vehicle fleets.
- Proven leadership skills in managing employees and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated competency in effective safety, environment and quality and resource management systems
