**About the Department**:
Queensland has a thriving tourism and entertainment sector that is amid a transformation to establish itself as a destination for some of the largest events on the global stage. Due to several significant investments and upcoming events, there is an immediate need for an experienced principal policy officer to strategically develop departmental policy to achieve challenging organisational goals in rapidly approaching deadlines.

**About the Role**:

- Use industry specific knowledge and expert communication skills to progress the needs of the department
- Liaise, collaborate, survey, and analyse stakeholder and key partnerships to promote the success of Queensland’s programs and sectors.
- Advise and contribute to the submission and revision of cabinet materials, representing the department’s interests.
- Research and construct policy for ministerial and cabinet consideration using well refined communication skills.
- Manage the implications and flow-on affects of policy changes from an internal and external perspective.

**About You**:

- You will have 2-3 years in senior government policy management
- You will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- You will have an established understanding of ministerial and cabinet processes, particularly in policy formation and submission
- You will have excellent organisation and time management skills to work within a fast-paced department
- You will be able to strategically prioritise the departments needs, managing the impacts to both internal and external stakeholders
