**What You Will Be Working On**
As an Economic Development Officer you will support the implementation of the City's Economic Development Strategy. Your daily work will be making a real impact on our diverse and thriving ecosystem. You will forge relationships with local businesses and investors, identify opportunities and will champion growth and prosperity within the City of Armadale. Your days will be filled with fostering connections, facilitating workshops, creating content and staying abreast of business assistance programs. You will collaborate across teams to identify opportunities that elevate the entire region. This role diverse and dynamic as you will be working on:
- Business Development Program
- Business Investment Prospectus
- Workshops, skills training, networking
- Business enquiries, support, engagement
- Database management, business audits
- Project support
- Website management
- Research and reporting
- Content creation (City Views, Annual Report)
- Destination marketing and promotion
**What Type Of Person Will Be Successful**
We are looking for a community builder who can drive economic development forward in areas where there is already momentum towards positive change:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Economics, or previous substantial experience in business support, economic development or business research.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to draft correspondence, reports, promotional materials and other related business documents.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Sound time management and organisational skills with the ability to deal with strict deadlines.
- Understanding of economic development and Local Government’s role.
- Knowledge of Council’s structure and functions.
