The City is looking for an Urban Designer to provide high-quality design and specialist professional/technical services and advice relating to the public realm, including landscape management projects of a medium level of complexity.

This position will undertake the development of proposals and studies relating to the urban environment, including the preparation of project briefs, selection, and management of multi-disciplinary project teams, consultants, and/or contractors, and prepare reports for project implementation and Council where required.

As the Urban Designer, you will support the City by:

- Identifying, investigating, and reporting on urban design issues relating to the public realm.
- Managing studies, frameworks, and projects of a medium-level complexity.
- Supporting the coordination and management of community consultation on projects during the conceptual design phase.
- Assisting in the preparation of management plans and policy recommendations in relation to urban design matters.

This role requires a sound understanding of urban design principles, including the ability to propose imaginative and deliverable conceptual work for the enhancement of the City’s public realm that responds to community needs, urban trends, spatial context, and history of place.
