**The Opportunity**

The Aboriginal Engagement & Participation Manager will report into the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager, and shall be the primary contact to engage, communicate and manage relationships with Australian Indigenous and in particular local Noongar communities, businesses, and subcontractors. On day-to-day activities, the role will support the Project Management team and is a critical for the successful delivery for the project.

**Key responsibilities include**
- Draft and implement the project’s Aboriginal Engagement and Participation Plan (AEPP) and ensure UGLs adherence to the clients’ overarching plans and documentation
- Support the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager with the UGL Communications and Stakeholder Management Plan (CSMP) across the project team and subcontractors.
- Achieve key participation and engagement project targets and milestones including, but not limited to, procurement, training and onboarding Aboriginal contractors.
- Provide advice on issues relating to Indigenous affairs and cultural heritage (i.e., sites, heritage surveys, heritage management) and maintain a positive public image for the Project and the company.
- Identify and establish key contacts within local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities; This includes liaising with land Councils and other government and regional or community development agencies.
- Visit project site locations and liaise with community members, as required.
- Support the company Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) group for UGL and provide appropriate advice and support for all UGL business in our community participation activities eg: including, but not limited to, Reconciliation and NAIDOC week activities.
- Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Project Management team

**Requirements to be successful**
- 4-year degree qualification to Bachelor status in a relevant discipline (Desirable)
- Previous community engagement experience
- Current Drivers Licence
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite of programs
