**We will count on you to**:
The day to day activities for the role will be broad ranging and dependent on the priorities of the team at any given point in time. In this role, you will ultimately contribute to the implementation of a best-in-class Investment data management capability. The Investment Data Analyst will report to the Data, Digital, Technology Leader - Investments and work closely with the Investment Data management Project Team, Portfolio Implementation, Portfolio management teams and the Investment Operations team

**The main responsibilities will include-**

**Investment Data Analysis, Implementation and Support for the Mercer Pacific data management capability**:
The Investment Data Analyst will report to Data, Digital, Technology Leader - Investments and work closely with the Investment Data management project team and stakeholders to support the daily Investment Data activities and implementation of an Investment Data management platform. The role will provide analytical expertise to support to the Mercer Pacific Investment Structure, Hierarchy & Asset Allocation, Investment Data sourcing and analysis across a wide range of Investment Data types and asset classes.

**Contributing to project team goals and activities**:
The Investment Data Analyst will collaborate with the project team to work towards a set of common goals, the most important of which is delivering investment outcomes that meet or exceed objectives. From time to time this may mean getting involved in project implementation, testing and cross-team projects or tasks in order to support the broader team goals.

**Contribute to ongoing data management capabilities**:
The Investment Data Analyst will implement best practices to ensure the data management platform and capability supports the Mercer Pacific Investment team now and into the future. Work closely with the project team and key stakeholders to develop data governance processes, process maps, data dictionary, & procedures.

**What you need to have**:

- Qualifications at a Degree level in an appropriate analytical discipline such as finance, economics or mathematics.
- Experience of conducting Investment data analysis and related activities at a Multi Asset Class Investment Manager or Superannuation Fund
- Solid understanding of Investment, Custody and Financial Market Data, Instruments and Data Feeds
- A sound knowledge of investment markets, asset classes and instrument types.
- Analysis and modelling of Investment Data and knowledge of Excel, VBA, SQL, relational databases and analytical/reporting systems
- Experience in system implementation and testing activities
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to communicate and interact confidently with other investment professionals, senior staff and other internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Team orientated
- Goal orientated
- Exposure to Investment Data management and portfolio management systems highly desirable.
- Experience in data visualisation tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau) is a plus
- A positive attitude and a willingness to develop and learn
