**Job Description**:
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a nearly or newly qualified Actuary to drive optimal commercial outcomes across TAL’s Individual Life Portfolio. Working flexibly from our Sydney office, you will support the Head of Portfolio Management and work closely with the Commercial Management Leadership Team on several key projects.
In this role you will:
- Work closely with Finance as well as Retention and Claims reporting teams to understand the key drivers of financial results each month
- Perform ad hoc deep dives which combine your curiosity and actuarial knowledge to investigate the root cause of emerging experience through both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Utilise your excellent communication skills to build presentations and communicate results in a clear and concise manner to the leadership team
- Support the TAL Finance team to help build Budgets, Strategic Plans and ensure alignment with the Individual Life Strategy
- Contribute to and drive various strategic projects and ad hoc actuarial analysis utilising your insurance acumen, stakeholder management and analytical skills
- Support senior leaders within the Portfolio Management team with ad hoc actuarial analytics support across Strategic Underwriting and Claims Insights and Analytics
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an Actuarial related role within the Life Insurance industry
- Proven, financial and business management skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- You will be a strategic thinker and have an entrepreneurial mindset
- High level of relationship development skills
- Demonstrable experience in delivering quality outcomes on multiple tasks and projects within planned timeframes
- Ability to develop knowledge of the Australian life insurance market - industry structure and trends, drivers and profitability, competitors
