Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) is a not-for-profit organisation located on the Southern end of Gold Coast. We are the largest attraction within the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) portfolio and feature a vibrant and varied collection of Australian Wildlife and Non-Native Exotics located just one block back from beautiful Currumbin beach.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is currently seeking an energetic individual to join the Presentations Team. The Presentation Department holds responsibility for the design, production, and delivery of our daily animal-based shows to educate, entertain and delight our guests. This exciting role requires you to be an experienced animal trainer who has excellent husbandry skills.
This role will require you deliver engaging, entertaining and professional performances at our shows. This role is a unique opportunity deliver special experiences to guests and to train and care for the animals involved. This role will involve assisting with show productions as required.

**Position details & duties**
- Hosting small to large group presentations and participating in wildlife photo sessions
- Use your animal training and guest engagement expertise to promote and perform daily
- Delivering and presenting information about native and exotic wildlife to educate guests about animal conservation issues in a fun and friendly manner.
- This role will involve training/ conditioning wildlife and animal handling as well as animal husbandry, animal health, exhibit maintenance and other duties as required.
- This position will range from Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster. This is a Permanent Part Time Position working a minimum of 16 hours per week between the two departments. Work over all holiday periods will be required.
- Pay and work conditions are classed under the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award 2010.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Must hold Cert 3 in Captive Animal Management.
- Ability to deliver professional, entertaining, informative and engaging public performances, able to work from both scripts or deliver unscripted presentations to small groups of all ages & nationalities.
- High level of energy, communication skills and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in training and keeping for animals with a strong working knowledge of operant conditioning.
- A genuine reliable, flexible, and positive attitude.
- High standard of personal presentation required.
- You must be able to work with a variety of native and exotic species including birds of prey, parrots, reptiles, and mammals.
- Desirable: knowledge of the attractions and products of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Appropriate fitness to walk long distances, stand for long periods and ability to carry / support up to 10kg for a prolonged period.
- We are a 7 day a week operation. Full availability required over weekends and school holiday periods.
- Manual Driver’s licence & current First Aid qualifications would be an advantage.
