As we continue to welcome visitors to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, we have an opportunity for a passionate and engaging **Casual Animals **Encounters Host **to support the delivery of our animal visitor interactions with a variety of animal species.

**About the Role**

As our confident Animals Encounter Host you will be part of our passionate Animal Encounters Team and work to deliver educational, engaging, and professional animal experiences to our visitors.

As an experienced animal handler, with confidence working with a variety of animal species including native and exotic birds, mammals, and reptiles you will deliver safe animal experiences and be able to deliver entertaining presentations (both scripted and unscripted) for our visitors and small groups.

As an Animals Encounter Host at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary you will work closely with a number of other departments and through animal encounters and wildlife presentations will create awareness, education and long-lasting memories for our visitors.

**About You**

To be successful in this role you have previous zoo keeping or animal husbandry experience and be confident working with animals and comfortable with public speaking and performing presentations to visitors, groups and media. Other required skills and qualifications we are looking for include:

- Certificate 3 in Captive Animal Management (required as minimum)
- Able to understand and identify animal behaviour, the basic training and conditioning of wildlife and monitoring animal health.
- A fun, energetic and highlight motivated attitude and have excellent communication skills.
- Highly adaptable and able to work well in a team.
- Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment, in all weathers, in a role that requires substantial walking in a workplace that has native wildlife such as birds and reptiles.
- Flexible and available to work across weekends, school holidays and public holidays.
