What are we looking for?

This is an great opportunity to work with a fantastic team and leader in a truly flexible work environment, delivering justice for Australians as a key member of our National Abuse Law practice.

We are looking for a passionate, proactive and results driven Lawyer with 5+ years’ experience, to join our Queensland team working out of our Brisbane office. You will be working with some truly amazing people across this practice group nationally, which will see you working collaboratively across a file load.

Lawyers in our Abuse Law team specialise in the area of sexual assaults or sexual abuse (including historical childhood abuse and institutional abuse).

In addition to taking on a wide range of challenging legal matters, this role will also see you manage and strengthen existing community relationships along with initiating and building new networks.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Instrumental in managing a personal injury practice (in particular Institutional Abuse)
- Continually exploring new opportunities for your practice and developing new business
- Maintaining strong client relationships
- Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management
- Ability to exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiously

What will you bring?

- Previous experience and a passion for Personal Injury, in particular, Abuse law
- Superior communication skills
- A calm and easy-going nature
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Ability to handle sensitive issues and challenging issues
- Ability to exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiously
- Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management
- An understanding and/or qualification in psychology would be highly desirable
