**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Research Officer to join a world-class team at the Doherty Institute, Australia's leader in immunology and infectious diseases. You will have the chance to lead impactful bioinformatics projects, collaborate with experts across diverse fields, and contribute to cutting-edge research that shapes the future of global health. Your responsibilities will include:

- Using best-practice pipelines for analysis of multi-omic data generated by collaborators. This includes: integration of high-dimensional data sets, best-practice programming practices, establishment of code-review activities, and appropriate version control
- Assisting the development of a strong program of collaborative research in bioinformatics with Bonn-Cumming researchers in the Doherty Institute.
- Developing new methods and software packages for analysis of different mutli-omic sequence-based or other high dimensional analyte data where appropriate.
- Assisting other researchers in carrying out experiments to work as a team and further the department’s research output.

**Who We Are Looking For**
We’re looking for people who demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to adapt to evolving research needs, and a passion for working independently as well as collaboratively across disciplines.

You will also have:

- A Master’s or PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across teams (computer science and biology) and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Experience analysing high-dimensional datasets, especially from high-throughput molecular assays
- Proficiency in running bioinformatics workflows on high-performance computing clusters
