Deception Bay State School has proudly served the local community for over ninety years. The original school motto 'Strive to excel' applies equally today as it did years ago. Our school serves a diverse, multicultural community, encouraging all to 'Strive to excel' in all aspects of school life - academic, sporting and cultural pursuits. Our school prides itself on working hand in hand with parents and the wider community to achieve the very best educational outcomes for each and every child. The school staff are a dedicated, caring, committed and highly professional team of class teachers, specialist teachers, teacher aides and other personnel who strive to meet the individualised learning needs of each and every child in a very supportive learning environment. In addition, we partner with many local organisations who support the school with services and activities for children.
Our school enrolments are nearing 350 students, catering for students from Prep through to Year 6. As with all schools in Australia, we teach the Australian Curriculum.
We offer a vast array of sporting opportunities for our children and are also broadening the cultural opportunities for offer with our school choir, concert band and other activities.

- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. - In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services. For more information on blue cards and exemption cards, please CLICK HERE.
