**About Student and Scholarly Services**
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

The Student Equity and Disability Services (SEDS) is in the Wellbeing Services portfolio, which includes the University’s Health Service, Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and the Chaplaincy service. SEDS is responsible for providing educational adjustments for students with a disability or health condition, are carers of a person with a disability, are defence reservists or emergency volunteers or for cultural or religious observance which impact their ability to participate fully in their studies.

**About the Role**
As the Cross-Program Equity Advisor, you will provide cross-program functionality between Student and Scholarly Services (SASS) and Academic Faculties with a focus on facilitating and improving student service delivery for seamless, timely support to students. You will work across Student Equity and Disability Services (SEDS), liaise with the Safer Community Program, and Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for cross referral, and with Academic Faculties and student administration such as Exams and Course Planning.

Responsibilities include:

- Liaise with University services to provide supports to students in relation to Academic Adjustment Plans
- Be the SEDS referral contact point for the Safer Community Program and Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) providing relevant follow up support
- Participate in a range of student support projects to identify enhancements to existing practice

**About You**

You will also have strong communication skills which enable you to provide informed and relevant messages, have experience in writing professional case notes and reporting, and experience in developing practice frameworks and service guidelines.

You will have the ability to organise and continually refine the delivery of services in a timely way and have proven experience demonstrating judgement, confidentiality and discretion, particularly when working with clients in crisis.

You will also have:

- Relevant postgraduate qualifications and professional experience in higher education with a focus on cross service provision and client case support or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Demonstrated experience working across multifunctional services and programs for the benefit of students/clients delivering evidenced best practice service provision
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of case support with a range of clients and support services, including mental health, disability and domestic and family violence
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with diverse client groups, for example, students with disability, neurodiversity, cross cultural, LGBTIQ+ and an understanding of intersectional factors of students engaging with the program
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with relevant Commonwealth and State legislation, particularly the Disability Discrimination Act (Commonwealth) and the Equal Opportunity Act (Victoria) and University policy
- Background in Social Work or similar field (desirable)
