**About the role**
The Environmental Health Officer works in the Public Health team to administer and implement the legislative requirements contained within the Food Act, Public Health & Wellbeing Act, Environment Protection Act and Tobacco Act as delegated by Council.
- Other responsibilities include:_
- Conduct food safety assessments of registered food businesses.
- Investigate and report complaints received from the public and take necessary remedial action.
- Issue notices and the required enforcement action to ensure compliance with relevant legislation

**About you**
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Environmental Health Officer with a passion for safeguarding public health. You will be a proactive problem-solver, able to handle a variety of challenges and complaints with a solution-focused approach.
Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will help you work effectively with local communities and stakeholders, ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.

The following is also required:

- Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Experience in local government is ideal but not required.
