The opportunity

A hands-on opportunity to drive a significant uplift in governance across the AUSPAC Divisional Change Portfolio. This role is designed for someone who thrives on building and embedding new frameworks, methodologies, and ways of working—transforming governance from its current state to a level that meets the highest standards for risk and audit reviews. You will play a pivotal part in shaping how governance is understood and practiced, ensuring the portfolio is positioned for success and resilience.

Your new role:
As Portfolio Governance Uplift Lead, you will independently assess the current governance landscape, identify gaps and opportunities, and deliver practical solutions that elevate effectiveness. You will design, document, align, and embed enhanced governance frameworks and processes, ensuring robust oversight and insightful reporting.

You will:

- Define the distinct roles and content expectations for the Change Portfolio Executive Committee (portfolio level governance) versus Initiative Steercos (initiative level governance), ensuring the portfolio level remit and content is value adding and non-duplicative
- Enhance Executive Committee pack standing agenda item content to provoke the right discussions and enable effective decision making.
- Improve processes for managing new and initiative change requests, including updated templates, quality assurance and pre-Executive Committee GM-level discussion forum (i.e. the Portfolio “Front Door”).
- Define and embed processes that provide effective governance for Agile Value Streams, while preserving their flexibility.

About you:
You are an experienced governance professional who excels at delivering tangible outcomes in complex environments. You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating independently to create and embed practical governance solutions that drive strategic alignment and reporting clarity. You are motivated by the challenge of building new frameworks and processes, and you bring credibility and expertise to every interaction.

You will:

- Deliver highly polished, clear, and digestible PowerPoint content suitable for executive-level audiences.
- Prepare and facilitate stakeholder briefings and alignment workshops, effectively navigating differing viewpoints and providing constructive challenge.
- Bring credibility and expertise as a Project Governance SME in interactions with Head-of and GM-level stakeholders.
- Develop and embed governance frameworks, approaches, and ways of working from the ground up.
- Produce high-quality, user-friendly Excel templates to support governance processes and reporting.
